No Run and Gun

Just throwin out an idea. The only time I have seen anyone on the No Run and Gun server was when the regular all weps was down. I rarely play in the afternoons or nights so it may be full at night. My question is, if it rarely has anyone on it can we change the game and try something different like Behind enemy lines, or Capture the Flag?? Just to see if the players pick up a little. Just a thought.

On the 82nd's all weps they have it set as capture the flag and there are usually tons of people on it, during the mornings.

We do actually have a lot of people on No R and G at night such as last night. I think a lot of times, some MsM members enjoy it and start to populate it and it gets a lot of people in it at night. Personally, I would like to try search and destroy on autos because I used to help run a server that was autos sd and it was so much fun. I know a lot of you guys don't enjoy it because you have to wait but it is really fun because it is much more tactical but you still spray.

Playing different games and maps is fun but I would want to keep it as no run and gun. We do have people playing on it at night.

We do have some pleasant games on no run and gun this week, it's up to people to find the pleasure to have more accuracy on no run and gun as there is too less nades to be trown everywhere from everywhere, it gives the chance to hae a better strategic game... that is an opinion.

it would be nice if we could get the Force crouch mod on there aswell, a good few illiterate players now days that still dont get the concept of no run gun even after you give em a few smites LOL

Believe me... We will always have a few illiterate folks. SoC has always been no run and gun and some folks never could get it.

We need to speak to those who have the forced crouched mod and get the script for it to load on the main server. At that point we will be able to do the whole /G_crouch thing....

I have heard that HOA now has it. We need to get with them on this and acquire the code.

I believe Treason has talked to Demon about the forced crouch. If not, I can run over there and ask him about it. I'm sure he would share. Since it was brought up, having the ability to change names would be nice also. He would save a lot of headaches if we could just change there name instead of asking and getting in to an argument over it.

Hey guy's.....just thought I would pop in on this. We do have a few of the console comands like the crouch.....though that is about the only one I haven't tried yet. We also have the rename and smite. I'm sure Demon would have no problem helping with the script.....all I am aware of is the console commands though. I can sure mention that you are looking for it if you would like?

That would be great. The no RnG server we're constantly smiting, kicking and correcting peeps. I don't want MsM to become known as a "rule stickler" server. No offense to the ole SOC, I respect SOC and always have, but they had a bad rep for being the most strict server out there and a lot of folks didn't want or like to play there. It was not because of the folks in SOC, it was simply because they ran a no RnG server and enforced the "impossible to enforce" rules.

I hear ya Frank. I really liked SoC myself, and everyone there, but found a lot of people getting kicked/banned for odd or no reason noted....and others getting away with everything....guess it was a mood thing...lol.
I like the no run and gun....enforced reasonably, of course....I try to be tolerant on our server.....to a point. Wink

I'll talk to Demon and see what I can get set up for you on the crouch thing.

No prob Kenni......anything for friends and I consider MsM in general to be just that.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you can run with an auto as long as you are not shooting, correct? I have been running with my gun like to dash across the street or to get someplace quickly, but then go into a crouch to shoot or peek around a corner. I know with a rifle, you can run and shoot all you want. Will a forced crouch mod affect those who use a rifle? I have been using a rifle a lot on the no R&G and was wondering about that. Just curious.

nope thats fine Smash you can run with the auto as long as your not firing, you can stand and shoot as long as your not running , you can also move while looking down the sites. If you search no run and gun server rules on the forum you should be able to find the post I made outlining and updating the rules for {MsM} no run and gun. Believe it or not theyre actually not as strict as SOC's were lol. I will try to find and bump that post for you since I think it was made before you joined Very Happy

I will add that you can also stand and shoot to look out a window or over a wall. Someone questioned me yesterday about that.

Thanks Treason. I had read that, but the more the people were posting in this, doubt started creeping in. Just wanted to make sure. Will a forced crouch mod stop people from running completely, or only when they fire their auto?

They are kept in the crouch position until the end of the game. Can't stand up, can't jump, all they can do is crouch.

My guess is if you are trying you won't be crouched. The crouch would be used instead of the smite or kick. MsM members who are on teamspeak are usually reminded via ts to crouch. And by the way, we haven't had any trouble with MsM members on no run and gun. Everyone tries to follow the rules. We know it can be difficult to get used to crouching. The only problem I've seen is Marn, who after playing on no run and gun goes to all weapons and continues to crouch. Poor guy got beat up pretty bad that day. Neutral
