Help With WWII search

Post by Shifty on Mon Aug 09, 2010 11:59 pm

Hey everyone,

I need some help here, and I know that U guys are the ones to do it. I need to find a list of men that were in the 7th Infantry Division, in WWII. Along with all of the regiments and Companies. I know this is a big favor to ask but, I just found a whole new WWII history in my family. I had two uncle's on my Dad's side that served in WWII. One of them was in the Army as an infantry solder, and another in the Navy. My grandma just received a letter held up and Army head quarters from WWII. In this letter my uncle tells about life in combat, and some of the things he has seen. But there is one blotch of ink in this letter from the couriers who edited out some stuff they didn't want seen. Well to get to it the name of my uncle is Donald Bobby Simmons, his serial # is 39027121. He was Born in Roosevelt, Ut. Lived in Tridell, Ut.

I know you guys are the best at finding stuff so if you could, please help me out. I will bring a scanner over to my grandma's house and scan in this letter so u all can read it. It is quite fascinating to think about all of this.

Thanks to those of you who try this daunting task, and if you do find a list post the link here and PM it to me. It would be much appreciated. If you want to I will let you know what I find out as I go along.

Thanks,

Shifty
