Hey Everyone

Post by Raging Raven on Fri Sep 23, 2011 8:34 pm

Hey guys. The tests that I had done (blood work and an ultrasound on my legs) came back okay. Although my white blood cell count is a bit elevated and Doc is now suspicious that I may have Spinal Stenosis. I go to talk to him on wednesday about getting an MRI. Good chance I may have to have back surgery but please pray with me that it can be treated without it. I am pretty scared now guys. I need all the prayers I can get and any advice anyone may have. Thanks Everyone. Love ya's

Thank you Pun and Agent. But i mean advice on what to do. If anyone else has or knows someone who has had this what it was they did or would have done differently. Having back surgery is a very big decision. And not something to be takin lightly. But first things first and that is to have this test done, then go from there. I know God is with me. And I do trust in him, but trusting a doctor is a whole other ball field. I dont want to end up worse than I already am.

My wife had back surgery about 3 years ago and she is doing very well. The surgeon, Dr.Murray, had to put two small pins and a small plate in her lower back on L3-L4 vertebrae. She also has RA and fibromyalgia but she does very well. She does not take heavy pain medications because the pain is very light. She does take a fair amount of Ibuprofen however and that seems to help her to keep going most all days. She is an RN so she does not have to strain herself, but if your job requires a lot of movement under stress then there might be more complications with recovery. She considers her back surgery a success. She had one of the very best surgeons who is a friend of ours and he did a great job with it. Be careful of your choice of surgeons and research them very well before you get too far in with any one of them in particular. Good luck Raven.

That's about the best advise right there. Just do some homework on doctors.

Okay guys I was misinformed by the receptionist at the doc office. well lets just say they dont know how to give news always better to talk to the doc. anyway i guess what I have is Stanosis of the artery. My ultra sound test on my legs ( which is basically just taking blood pressure from the legs and listening to the pulse) showed some abnormalities of the blood flow in my left leg ( the one i have been having problems with) after talking to the doc he believes that there are two places in my leg where the artery is hardening. Again I am only 26 years old almost 27, too young for this crap! The MRI is scheduled for next friday at 9:30 a.m. Wish me luck everyone.

Up here in Canada we have Specialist for that their called cardiac care unit it got to do with intermal medicine Your stanosis of the artery is plaque build up in your arterys making the walls of your leg artery thin and not letting the proper blood flow through .Alot of diabetics get this. Deep leg thromboasis that you may need to have stints place in your legs for you to have better blood flow or you may have to wear pressure socks and take blood thinners i cant see them replacing the vein its self DOCTORS TODAY ARE VERY GOOD IN KNOWING WHAT THERE DOING RAVEN LEAVE IT IN THERE HANDS PS PRAYER IS AWAYS GOOD TO.GOD BLESS GET WELL SOON WE ALL LOVE YA BE WELL

Believe me, I know that prob better than most. I know i'll be okay, it's still just scary. I thank you all for your prayers and boosts of confidence. I know that stressing about it isn't good for it either so i'm trying to stay calm. I love you guys and thanks again. Also I am sorry I haven't been around much. Just dealing with a lot. I miss you guys very much. And I will get back to playing. After having surgery (if needed) that is prob the only thing I can do for a while lol. I want you all to know that I do want to be here and I hope you know that. All I gotta say is thank God for MsM and all the wonderful people in it. I will see you all soon and will deff keep you all posted.
