Grenades

I was just wondering if it would be possible to lower the amount of grenades a player could have or get rid of the trip wires. Its just when playing with 7 people on each team, it gets hectic to try and play when people put trip wires at spawn points or in front of doors. It seems like half the people that get killed are being blown up by trip wires and it kind of takes the fun out of the game when everyone just places trips everywhere.

I agree with you Howell. I am not a big fan of the trip and spawn nading. Especially on Harbor when it turns into a grenade throwing contest. heheheh. I wouldn't mind just going to 1 grenade. If a player gets lucky to run across another nade laying around, then he could place a trip. I know others like placing trips so it would be up to what the Admins want to implement.

What do the rest of you think?

Yeah I agree with you too Howell and I cannot stand spawn nades, that should be against ALL MsM nade rules. I think its a cheap shot against an opponent with a spawn nade, how can the opponent defend? Right, they cant except stand there and just wait for their teammate to spawn and blown them both up again right lol. I dont mind the trips if they are place behind a sniper to cover a doorway to the room they may be sniping from, that is ok but the spawn trips, spawn nades, whatever you want to call them, is a blow below the belt as far as I am concerned....

I like the random nades you may get 1 you may get 2 who knows. then everyone is happy.

I hear ya talking about me and Frank Pun.We have to get those kills some how.hehehehehe. I agree its not fare,But I do it because Others do it. There is No defence for it as Pun said. Buit if it were real war.. trips would be part of it.Maybe make a rule asking folks to be fare about it and not set Spawn trips.Start enforcing it and it will stop..But I tried and we have tried to leave out the nades.Then folks started playing on other servers. I try to stay away from spawn trips, but I usually set a trip right around the corner

Well what if each player started with 1 grenade than could pick up another off of the dead and then place the trip? that way no one could spawn and instantly trip that spot. And there would be no super grenade frenzy. Just a thought.

I like the trips altough I dont spawn trip. As for the nade throwing frenzy, thats pretty exclusive to Harbor. It doesnt really happen on other maps.

The trips force you to watch you feet as well as your environment, therefore you cant run around as you wish, especially when going through doors or staircases.

I love my trips so much, I barely ever throw a single nade! I have spots in alleyways for everymap. To me, trips add to the challenge of the game and some like me have grown quite good at it. This being said, I do agree that spawn trips are a pain to be adressed.

1) You can set random grenade amounts, you can also set it so that if you have a rifle you get grenade. If you have smg/mg you get none.

2) For kicks, if I remember... I will chat with a few of my modding buddies. We might be able to come up with something where it checks your location upon planting. If your on a spawn point... No planting and you get the "you can not plant here message".

I love trips and nades. It's part of war, the game, and it helps those of us who don't have the fastest PCs to get a few extra points. Just my 2-cents.

I think trips are great, part of war and in war they werent planted where u could see them and the more you could kill with one the better. Both teams have them, so use them wisely. I think spawn trips are cheap, but I also think they funny as all get out. hehehe The nades stay, we're not the most popular server because we dont allow them or trips. Sorry folks

^ That is actually possible, we have a classes mod somewhere. Demolition gets grenades and C-4...lol

I love trips ,...(I'm sure that doesn't shock anyone that has played with me) I feel that that is something that separates this game from anything else I have played. I also agree with Peasoup 100% that this makes people slow up a bit and look to see where they are going as opposed to just running around wasting everything in sight mindlessly. I think it helps to break the momentum of some of the better players and maybe evens things out a bit for those of us that aren't as accurate with the rifle/mouse. And I also agree with Frank that is extremely entertaining to take out 3 or 4 people at once. Perhaps a good compromise would be a mod restricting spawn nades? I feel that might go a long way in appeasing both sides of the issue. I have played on servers that don't have trips and honestly for me its just not as fun. Those are my 2 cents. Thanks everyone.
