YO FRANKIE!!!!!!!!!
Miss you old friend!!!!! I fully understand the bass fishin fever....I had it somethin fierce when I was back home in NC. Not so much here as there arent a lot of good bass fishin spots available. So enjoy that new toy and hook a couple for ol' Snipes!!!
Take care and God bless buddy!!!!!!

Whatcha say fellas! I'm sure I will enjoy it once I get to put it in the water. Weather has been bad and getting a boat registered in Louisiana is worse that pulling a splinter from your eyeball! Love me some fishing! Good to hear from u boys.

Re: Hello fellas from ole' uncle frankie
Hello Unc, good to hear from you man. Oh yeah, the ole bass boat... they are nice but you said it right, a money pit at times. I really enjoy my 18 footer. Seems though I have had more problems with the lower end of my motor and then or course trolling motors more than anything. I can build a lower end of a Mercury 175 HP with my eyes closed it seems lol. You know the ole acronym for boat right...?? BOAT = Bust Out Another Thousand!
Anyways, enjoy it brother, nothing better than the therapy one can get from a peaceful, beautiful day out on the lake just casting the ole shimano or ambassador. I am a shimano man myself.
Just make sure to turn off the cell phone lol hehehe!
Be safe, God bless you brother. Pun

Hey Frankie, don't let these guys scare ya about the money pit thing. The best part about your boat is theres a different kind of fish biting anytime of the year. You just have to deal with the cold.
Thats what hurts most boats the worst and gets the most money tied up in them. Not using them enough. Just watch out for dem gators, an if u see one jus go in wit your Tommy and Choot dat tang... lol.

Re: Hello fellas from ole' uncle frankie
Some good advice from Pun and Troop! Yea just like us, when we set up we get stiff and things tend to break down hehehe. Dont own a shimano pun, but have my eye on that calcutta! whew! nice! Heard good things about em. My gear is abu garcia and also fond of the Quantum. Bought a Quantum when i was 13 and still use it! I have 2 old school abu garcia's and one low profile. The old school's are like a winch! If my boat ever stalls I could just cast and hit a tree and winch myself to the bank lol. I love to fish fellas. Mainly a catch and release man, but if the groceries keep going up, I may have to pull out the ole' fillet knife and keep a few. hehehe . My brother and I fish whenever we can and we both catch and release. His wife gets sooooo upset with us because we dont bring any home hehehe. Ima have to break down, let the bass be and catch her a mess of white perch/crappie to fry up
Pun its time to break the boat out brother! Maybe we could pass some pics across the forum of some fish that didn't get away.
Oh and troop, I got sumpin fer dem gators
God bless ya fellers. Maybe one day when the boat wont crank, I'll break out the ole' tommy and a sack of marbles witcha!

Re: Hello fellas from ole' uncle frankie
Hey Unky Frank.
All this fishing talk has me wanting to go down to the river and chop a hole through 3 feet of ice and drop my ole line in the water. With the way this winter is going, it will be June before the ice is out. hahahahahha
Dang you southern good ole boys with your dang bass and bass boats and crayfish and nice sunny warm weather in the winter time when all I can do is look through some ole fishing magazine sittin on my throne in the library with the furnace turned on high.

Hi Finder
How u been and how's that boy doing? Tell him hello from unkie frankie.
Well fellas, I put the ole' boat in da water 4 times now. runs like a champ
I think I have made a fisherman out of my daughter too...I cant even walk near the boat without her asking if we're going fishing... she likes it ulot'
Quality time with the family folks....thats what its all about. now if i can just teach mommabear how to operate the trolling motor and take fish off a hook, I'll be set
maybe install a lazyboy recliner on the back deck.....genius

Re: Hello fellas from ole' uncle frankie
Pretty good idea there for sure. I just rebuilt the lower end on mine and it was not very cheap but actually Id did ok. I got the entire lower end that was used and replace all the seals O Rings and springs everything. Just a total overall even the prop shaft and driver shaft. I got out for around 575 bucks less the gear oil so I did pretty good considering a lower end from the factory was over 1200 plus exchange and it was actually a re- conditioned from the manufacture.
It pays to have a few skills that pay the bills and the thrills if you own da boat because of the up keep but there is nothing line getting up early on a beautiful Saturday morning, loading the coolers up, gearing up with some nice rigs and just ease on out to the ramp and put in and spend the day just trolling and catching dem bass monsters lol.
Best therapy in the world I guarantee.
Enjoy it brother and God bless you man. Pun

Re: Hello fellas from ole' uncle frankie
Now your getting smart partner.
Hey, seriously, one could make some pretty decent extra coins doing the repair work on the motorcycles and also on boat repairs such as the motors, props, electrical system and also the trolling motors.
One could get a certification through a very good correspondence online school/online courses then get your business license for your location, which is a normal yearly fee, not much and hey, you can make enough on the side to cover all the bills for the thrills brother.
If you have the time that is....
In one year if you really worked hard and sacrificed some of your free time or maybe stretch it to 18 months, you could have learned enough well to run diagnostics and repairs on both machines and you know you would enjoy that more than riding them almost.
I even remember you telling us a while back Unc that you would love to have a small repair shop for motor bikes. Why not get it together brother and have both? MUCH MUCH MONEY TO BE MADE!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matthew 6:33 - King James Version
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
God bless you my dear brother. Good luck in all your endeavors Matt. Pun
