Problem Solved......sorta

Well, as more than a few may know, I have had a rougher than normal time with ping here lately. Bouncing from 200-500 the whole time. Last night I finally pinned the problem down

We recently got a PS3. In and of itself, not a big deal. My fiance, however, is addicted to Netflix. The PS3 taps into the wireless internet here at the house.....and I'm sure you get the idea....lol!!! She turns on a movie while I'm trying to play CoD.....ping through the roof. I showed her this last night as she had her movie paused and my ping stayed around a normal (for me) of 100-110.....the second she unpaused, it totally pinged out

Anways.....when I showed her this.....we agreed that when I am in game.....NO NETFLIX OR INTERNET ON THE PS3!!!! LOL!!!!

Problem solved (it's my dream, just let me have it lol!!)

AH ha! That was the culprit huh partner. Glad you got it figured out now just order a higher MBPS service, that is all you need. It will give you faster downloads and uploads and that should be all you need for that.... Lot faster too for sure. Good luck and God bless you brother. Pun

Made all the difference!! I got to play a little bit last night without her on Netflix on the PS3....my ping stayed around 98-105....MUCH better lol

You and me Snipe. Same thing here with the lady. Whenever before we upgraded we were at 1.7 mbps... So me trying to play and her watching her shows on Netflix, it was a pain. Now were at 7 mbps. Everything working fine. Don't have to worry about lagging or her yelling at me for Netflix buffering to slow.

I dont know what ISP (Internet Service Provider) either of you have but I have not ever seen low MBPS figures or T1 T2 numbers like that in a while, my Dad's are in that range.

Do you both have xdxl / a telephone line? Just wondering. My MBPS is 32 and it actually runs a bit higher than that most times.

I have charter and I get the 30 MBPS package for 29.99 so if you have availability to charter services, I would recommend them to you.

I am glad you got your problems fixed though.

There is nothing more aggravating to have internet interruption problems except one thing and that is when someone is telling you that their service provider is better than yours right lol heheheh.

Unfortunately.....where I am....I have a VERY limited source for ISP's. It's either Frontier DSL or Cable One. I was running the Cable One the last time I was here and the Frontier DSL Wireless now. Both of which have about the same results. Believe me.....if I had another option.....I would SO take it!!!

Suddenly.......I don't feel so bad

Wish I could get some 30 mbps... But unfortunately 7 mbps is as highest it'll go in my area. Also was just renewed in Dec. too bad though. I hate having upload speed of 50 kbps... And Vixen I do feel bad for ya... I ain't had dial up in a looooonnggg time.
