NHL playoffs

Post by Peasoup on Mon May 13, 2013 10:13 pm

Just thinking we might want to tease each other on what's going on in the playoffs. I know me and Termi dont have much to tease with since our teams, Montréal and St-Louis are out. Sad I guess Badger's Red Wings are half a surprise, being the consistent team they been for 20 years or so... That Badger always wins... Evil or Very Mad

Crazy Boston/Leafs came last night - that was INSANE to watch. Definitely feel for the Leafs, that's gonna be a hard loss to swallow.

Rangers routed the Caps with some authority last night as well, although Ovie was decking people left and right.

It's been a crazy year. REDWINGS!!!! and Ducks series was INTENSE. Our first 3 wins of the series were OT winners. Talk about nail biters! I need to wear gloves when watching the games now LOL. Gotta love it.

Gonna be a EPIC series against the Blackhawks - last time we will meet in the playoffs before a Finals game. It's gotta be different not playing them so often. Time for one last original six playoff series BATTLE Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I'm rooting for the Sens to knock off those silly Penguins, and Rangers to kick out Boston. I'd like to see the Kings lose, so the Wings can beat up the Sharks and get some revenge in the west. Then the Wings will win the cup vs the Rangers!! (who will beat the Sens in the east). There is my prediction!! You heard it first here folks, lol

A little excited there Badger eh?!

The Bruins-Leafs game was certainly out of this world. Such a comeback in the playoffs dont happen often.

I witnessed first hand the size and power of Ottawa's defense plus Spezza coming back soon, so I'm gonna go with a bold prediction:

EAST FINALS : Sens beat Boston
WEST FINALS : Hawks beat Kings
CUP : Hawks beat Sens

Sorry but I dont see the Wings going further without Lidstrom's might.

Yup defense is our weak point. SO MANY young guys there. And we're missing Bertuzzi and Helm something fierce, that's for sure. If the Wings don't make it by Chicago, I think Chicago will go all the way, as much as I hate to see it tongue . Better them than the Penguins though!

What is it with the Penguins that you cant stand Badger?

Personnaly, I think they underachieve considering the number of #1 draft choices they had few years back. Plus they whine a lot!

lol mostly when we lost the cup in the '09 finals in that terrible game. and while Datsyuk gets attention, the constant Crosby media bombardment is tiring.

Also they played very dirty in the 08 and 09 playoffs, many of their players. They've definitely matured significantly since then but it's hard to shake those old feelings.

Oups! I forgot about those finals... Embarassed

Defenitely, Datsyuk is underrated. When it comes down strictly to skills. He's in a league of his own. Maybe when the Wings join the East, he'll get more recognition for his quality.

The long awaited Hawks win in game 7 gives me a 3 out of 4 on my prédictions. The Wings did much better than expected, could have won it cleanly in 6 but the Hawks are the Hawks. As for the Sens, maybe I got a little excited... Embarassed

As for the finals. I'll go with the Hawks. I cant breath the Bruins... Evil or Very Mad

Tough game to watch for the Wings.

HOWEVER! We made it two rounds deep, beat the #2 seed, and took the #1 seed and President's Trophy winner to 7 games.

And we did all that with 6 legit rookies and missing two of our quality players, Bertuzzi and Helm. The Wings also had the most man-hours lost to injuries this season than any other team. Not to mention losing the greatest defenseman to play the game.

So for a rebuilding year full of rookies and wracked with injuries, I think they made a heck of a run. All I can say is that the Eastern Conference better watch out next year - the Wings are going to be a force to be reckoned with.

LET'S GO RED WINGS!

Mmmm... I guess your talkin about Lidstrom... What about Orr?, Bourque?, Robinson?, Chelios?, Stevens?, Coffey?, Macinnis?...

This could be an interesting debate Wink
