I am running Windows 7 and the error I get tells me that CoD2 is not compatible with Windows 7. Anyone else get this?

Thanks.

Did you try to run it in compatibility mode? Also if you have a 64-bit system and you bought an older used game meant for a 32-bit system that might be an issue.. maybe Vix can help you out.

My first advice is just right-click the shortcut, go to properties, click the compatibility tab, and check the "run this program in compatibility mode for:" box and select XP or something.

Mine is brand new, in the box, from Amazon. When I load disk 1 I am prompted to run the .exe file to bring up the install option. I don't get the install option, I get the version conflict error.

Thanks.

Got it installed. Now just need to download 1.3 patch. It's late, have to get some sleep.

Compatibility Issue With CoD2 and Windows 7 Empty Re: Compatibility Issue With CoD2 and Windows 7

If anyone is running Windows 7 and gets an "incompatibility" error, here is a work-around to get CoD2 installed on your PC:

1. Install disk 1.
2. When the .exe prompt screen comes up do NOT click on the Run.exe selection.
3. Click on the "Open Folder" selection at the bottom of the box.
4. Once the folder opens, right click on the Setup.exe file and select "run as administrator."

The disk should start loading at that point, then install disks 2-6 as prompted. Do not click the run.exe selection when inserting subsequent disks, rather press the red X to get that prompt to close. DO however select "OK" to run the next disk on the other prompt that shows up.

Let me know if you run into any problems.

Termi.
