Headed South, Prayers Requested

Post by [WoF]BG.Terminator on Fri Nov 07, 2014 8:06 am

Greetings again my WoF friends and family. On November 15th I am headed to Bogata Colombia, South America, for a week long mission trip. We will be extremely busy all week there, and I am excited about the trip! These are the things I will have the honor of participating in while we are there: Housing construction, Christmas for the kids at a local orphanage, medical assistance, teaching, and preaching. I am only telling you all of this because I covet your prayers for me. I know that Colombia is very dangerous, and I know the Ebola risk with international travel. Your prayers will surround me as I strive to do what God has called me to do every year, to serve others and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. I am thanking you in advance, and I'll report back in after the 22nd when I return. Many blessings to you all!

Termi.

This is an awesome work that you are doing brother and indeed it is bringing much glory to our Lord I believe. Yes, I will pray for you dear brother and for your safe keeping while on your travels and on your mission, I will also pray for all those that are going with you and all who are doing this same work, I will pray for your family also.

Know that what you are doing is great and I'm certain that our Lord Jesus Christ is and will be pleased with it, I pray as well that many many people are blessed and introduced to Jesus Christ who do not know HIM and also that they will accept HIM as their eternal savior.

May Gods blessings be with you always man. I am so happy to know you sir. Take good care, stay in step with our Lord knowing that HE is watching over you while you attend to the work that HE has given you to do. It will be a great success, there is NO doubt in my mind.

Let us hear from you as soon as possible too after your return home ok, would love to hear the details of your trip and how things unfolded each day.

Best regards dear brother.

In Christ, Don

Yes, we have wifi here at the Hotel La Fuente' in Fusagasuga'. It's weak, but I can get on. It's been a great week! I'll post up a summary and some pictures when I return. The prayers have been felt by all of us. God is good!

Blessings, Termi....

Glad you made it back alright brother and that you were able to get some hot water and good ole U.S. grub! Main thing is.... what you did is pretty amazing! Glory to our Lord Almighty, HE is really doing something with your life brother.. I know you are grateful for that and so am I! Thanks for all your christian efforts dear one.

God bless you my brother.

P.S. Hope you get a chance to post some info after you have rested, would love to to hear what it is like over there and how things went for all of your group.

Take care.

Well, I'm back in the swing of things so I'll try and recap my trip for you. About 28 of us went on a week-long mission trip to Colombia South America on November 15th. We usually go somewhere in Central America every year (Nicaragua, Honduras), but this year we decided to go to the Church of God Bible College in Fusagasuga' Colombia. Our missionary there has several projects on-going and we were able to help a bit in the week we were there.

Part of the team constructed walls and the roof structure out of 5" diameter bamboo for a building. The concrete foundation was already there so they set up the walls and roof supports. Another team will be there is a few weeks to do the roof. This building will be the dinning hall for the Bible students. I did not work on the construction project this time, rather, I assisted with the ministry teams.

As part of the ministry team, we went to several surrounding small towns. The towns we ministered in were Narninio, Gerado, and Guamo. In each of these towns the ministry team was able to distribute food, candy, shoes, clothing, toys, and we had a church service with the local pastors there. All totaled, Church of God USA shipped and distributed several hundred pounds of food and clothing to Colombia. We had to separate and package it there, then distribute it. It was a lot of work but was very rewarding to see the faces of the people there light up with joy. Oh yeah, we also did a short play for the people in each town depicting the nativity scene, Christ's ministry, His death, and His resurrection (short, but to the point. I was a Roman soldier... LOL).

I feel very honored and blessed to be a part of the team that went to Colombia. I'm just a small cog in the wheel, but I did my best to pull my weight. If you want to see my Colombia pictures, look me up on FaceBook (Tom Stewart, Stafford, VA). Send me a friend request. I will try and post some pictures up here too.

Blessing to all of you, have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Termi.
