Computer Help
Ok guys so I have been doing some research lately on my laptop aka my gaming computer and I wanted to see what kind of upgrades to get for christmas. I want to getting better ram, a better hardrive, and a better graphics card if all of these are possible. I am probably going to go to Best Buy and speak with the guys to see if all of these are possible. When I asked some people in teamspeak asking if I could get a graphics card for a laptop. I did some googleing and people say you can for some laptops. Does anyone know for sure if I can? I'm still going to check with Best Buy but I wanna hear from you guys. I have a Dell Inspiron 1501. These are the features I have on it:
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
Memory: 1918MB RAM
Hard Drive: 109 GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon Xpress 1150
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
Sound Card: Speakers / Headphones (SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC)
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.090302-1506)
Motherboard:
Computer Case:
If someone can let me know what kind of upgrades that would be nice and what each upgrade would do that would be nice. This could be for gaming or just to make my laptop run faster. If you need to see pictures of it or anything about it, go here. http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3359&review=Dell+Inspiron+1501
Thanks.

Re: Computer Help
It;s cheaper to build a good desktop computer than it is to buy a cheap computer.I say build a desktop.Frank has a good laptop but continues to have problems with playing cod.And this cod is a low end game.It doesnt take much to run it. check out tiger direct and new egg.

Re: Computer Help
Yea Marn I understand where your coming from when you say build your own computer because it's cheaper but at the moment I don't have the kind of money nor will my parents pay for it. I'm only 15. :/ Once I get a little older and get some more money, I am probably going to do so but at the moment, I'm just trying to kinda boost up my fps so I don't completely lag all the time. I was looking at the tiger direct and what I will do is print out some of the graphics cards, then go to Best Buy, see if they are compatable and install it. Thanks for your help. See ya out there.

Re: Computer Help
So I guess a good question to ask at this point would be how much money do you want to spend in order to boost your current computer and will that money spent really be worth it?
I'm with Marn on this one. Even if you don't have the means to upgrade your current PC, I would save up the money until you can afford to build a much better desktop. In all actuality it would be worth waiting a few years for. Out of all the computers I've ever bought since the Commodore 64, I've never felt that a laptop could provide the same quality experience in gaming that a desktop could. Unless you put about 2x the money into a laptop for Alienware etc, your much better off with a desktop for gaming and you can get a lot more for your money
