The Pacific

Post by Trooper on Tue Apr 20, 2010 3:34 am

Just throwing it out there. If you haven't already you should check out the new Tom Hanks mini series on HBO. "The Pacific" I'm on the third one now. It's pretty much Band of Brothers but it's the US v Japan. If you don't have HBO you can probably find it online somewhere. I also bought Band of Brothers on Blu-ray and let me tell you... on a big screen with suround sound it's just awsome. I've watched it twice.

I hope not. I watched "Saving Private Ryan." Beautiful movie but my mom was suspicious of the swearing pale

Try tvduck.com

This is rated R so yes there is bad language.

Sad

I have a great uncle that was on Omaha in Normandy and he said that he was glad he watched S.P.R. and it was so realistic he never wanted to see it again. He's still alive today. 92 yo i think.

just watched the first one last night trooper, good mini-series. i have watched band of brothers many of times, my best scene is when he tops the hill by himself and that heard of SS is right there in his face and his men are 100 yrds behind him and he lights em up!

Received Band of Brothers DVD set a few years back for X-mas. Love it! Have watched it many times. The episode Frank mentioned is one of the best. It was directed by Tom Hanks. I also like "Why we fight". Not for the battle scenes, but the concentration camp they find is so realistic and really tells you the horrors that they went through. I plan on asking for The Pacific for either X-mas or B-day as I saw the first episode and really looked good.
