Why I dont do facebook

This is actually only ONE of the reasons that I do not do the Facebook thing. I have had some to ask me why not. So to all those that do, BEWARE!!

Totally Understandable there Pun. I myself didn't realize how dangerous FaceBook really is. I have noticed some fishy things like apparently I had asked for my Horoscope, which had been posted on my wall. I never opened it because it said that my sign was cancer....I am an aquarious.

Its never a good idea to put your information out publicly thats why I don't use and of the applications or anything like that ... I simply use it to talk to people ... as for the horoscope thing raven ... you do realize they changed the dates for that stuff right?

I have so many different passwords for everything that I sometimes forget them.

I don't use hardly any applications/games on facebook. Strictly a social thing. Anything that wants to "access all my data" and all that (yes I actually read most of those things) gets denied.

As far as passwords go..I have a short one for simple accounts on sites I don't really frequent or care about much (where if it gets figured out I actually don't care), a long complicated one for my school related things and email, and another one for banking. So I don't have a ton...it's like 4 total and small variations of these.

And in all actuality, I have all my passwords saved and the sites bookmarked so I'm automatically logged in to everything but banking related things (on my computer anyway. which is always locked when I'm gone).

What do you mean? Yeah I realize that, that is why it said I was a cancer when Im not.

Thanks for the info Pun. I don't do Facebook for the reasons stated as well as many others. My friends ask me why I'm not on and I tell them I have a phone and email. When I want to communicate with someone I use those. Actually I have two phones a land line and cell and multiple emails.

Facebook just seems to be one more thing to keep up with or to compromise my privacy. Maybe one day I'll join but it seems more and more information comes out to give me reason not to join.

I love using Facebook, but just like any other site on the web you gotta watch what you are doing. Facebook is really a lot of fun and isn't as scary as most people say it is. Facebook has millions of people on it everyday and I really haven't heard of one case where someones ID got stolen or bank accounts being hacked into. I mean schemers like that are all over the net you just gotta be very careful about what you click on and what information you are giving. I am thankful for this info Pun because it has givin me clues on what to look for when I am on Facebook. I have always been careful but now i know of specific things to look for while being on Facebook.

My friends from high school have moved to places all over the country/world. Plus the ones that are in the military in countries like Japan, Germany, Panama, Afganistan and other war zones. I have one of my best friends that can see Russia from his porch in Alaska, and some more high school friends that live in at least 10 different states. I love the convenience of just shooting them a line on facebook or getting to see the pics of their new babies. I don't think I could do without facebook. But I don't open apps. lol I don't have the time to play mafia wars or tend to sheep and a garden. lol

my parents (especially my dad) don't really approve of facebook for those reasons, Pun. But I think...well, basically if you don't do stupid stuff and write dumb stuff on fb, you'll be fine...
