When I become a rocket scientist?
Snipes, I already am one....well....I am if you consider my rocket to be a hopped up 1966 C10 pickup truck. NASA has nothing on me baby......hahahahahahahahah
(a + b)4 = a4 + 4a3b + 6a2b2 + 4ab3 + b4=my rocket

Sure, In fact you have been using it every time you try and fill up your "hopped up 1966 C10 pickup truck,"
I'm sure your truck burns gas like a rocket so if you had 40 dollars to spend on gas at 3.50 a gallon. How many gallons could you buy for your, "sweet little 6?"
Let x = # of gallons of gas
3.50x=40.00
x=11.4 gallons
Isn't it sad that 40 dollars can't fill our vehicles any more.

Re: Peasoup for everyone!
I agree with Kenni. Algebra is best appreciated in simple situations. Say you have 20$ to provide a hearty meal for 10 people. So you buy 10 cans of peasoup at 0.99$ each. Will you have enough to pay for the soup plus the 2 rolls of toilet paper (0.69$ each) and the air freshner aerosol (5.59$) that you're gonna need to survive the legth of the football game with that many people eating peasoup in the same room? (Don't forget the 13% federal and provincial tax that we enjoy paying in Canada!)

Re: Peasoup for everyone!
10 x Rolls TP: 10*0.99 = $9.90
2 x Can Soup: 2*0.69 = $1.38
1 x Air freshener: 1*5.59 = $5.59
SUBTOTAL: $16.87
With Tax:
TOTAL = $16.87(1+0.13)
TOTAL = $19.06
Not seeing the algebra here, but there ya go!
VERDICT: You have enough money. For some real algebra, how many candies can you buy with your leftover funds if each candy costs $0.06 with no tax?

Re: Peasoup for everyone!
I'm glad there was enough left for the air freshener.
Please clarify, do you want the candy bought with the 13% tax or without?
Ok, Badger, How about this?
There is 10 quarts of soup for Pea, Via and Queb to enjoy an evenings worth of Canadians best peasoup. Divide the soup so that the glutton Queb gets twice as much soup as Pea, and Via, whose on a diet, gets 2 quarts less than Queb.

Re: Peasoup for everyone!
You can put the "x" wherever you want Badger. It can be the subtotal. Like I said, keep it simple. To make things interesting, we could work on finding the intersection point between the parabolic trajectorie of a KAR98 bullet and each others alternate head movement as we're moving side-to-side facing each other and explan to me why I'm the one who always ends up dead!!

Re: Peasoup for everyone!
I got this for Kenni's problem
I get 2.4 qt (or 2,25 liters, if we are in Canada!)
Queb gets 4.8 qt
and Via gets 2.8 qt
I figure you're talking US qt. That's a lot of peasoup. We're gonna need more air freshner. But in Canada, back in teh days we used the imperial qt wich in liters would be for my portion 2.73 liters. I think I'm feeling sick...

Re: Peasoup for everyone!
hahahhahahha
I would have enjoyed algebra more in highschool if they would have had bowls of peasoup. And crackers.
I do have a question, how many miles to the gallon of peasoup would my 66 chevy get? Would I have to convert it to methane first? If so, I better get eating....
Speaking of soup, any knoephla soup fans?
