Stepping down

Hey guys and gals, my gaming time has become less and less lately and I figure its time for me to bow out gracefully. I dont have the spare time that I used to and rarely participate in clan events/game nights. Life has gotten busier and I am pursuing other interests. Busy with a lot of kid stuff and their sporting events and my new band is taking up more time.

A lot of you dont know it (Oldman does) but playing this game and all my friends at the old SGC clan and here at MsM have helped to keep me outta trouble for the last 3 years or so. Its been a very tough and challenging time in my life. Divorcing my high school sweetie after being together since we were 17 and being married for 20. She just up and walked out on me and the kids one day. This game and all the fine people here at MsM and SGC helped keep me distracted from my daily misery. I usually dont air a lot of personal stuff on here but I want you all to know that you have helped in ways you will never know.

All the mushy stuff aside I will not be a stranger but real life calls and I have found peace in my life for the 1st time in a long time. I'll still see you all in game on occasion and stop by the forums to catch up. I'll even continue to make the occasional donation towards the servers.

Dang Biggie. Like the others have said you will be missed. I am going to hold you to the "coming back occasionally". I for one, have always had a good time when you were in the game. And it goes back a number of years. The old SGC, SOC and C2A days. Take care buddy.

CowaBunga I dunno what to say. I went to Ft Campbell for my best friend of 25 years when his body was returned home from Afghanistan and the playing of Taps brought tears to the eyes, still get a bit misty eyed over it.

Taps has an extraordinary ability to stir up all kinds of emotions. I have heard it graveside only once, at my Grandfather's burial. He died peacefully of old age, decades after becoming a WWII Veteran. I never really thought of him as a Veteran, though I knew he was. It was amazing to see the men dressed in formal military attire show up to his funeral to honor him. That, combined with the playing of Taps, all more than 60 years after his military service had ended, brought many tears to my eyes, deepened my respect for our armed forces, and forever changed the way I feel when listening to Taps.

True, you're not dead, but from the sounds of it, a dark chapter in your life history has closed, and another, brighter one has opened. Best of luck to you. I'm sure we'll see you around from time to time.
