WOW Shifty I am so sorry. There is something I heard once and I hope this helps. Do not mourn for our soldiers but praise them for there service. It was something like that but same concept. I will pray for you and this brave soldiers family. I will even get a flag and put it out my front door on the day of his memorial service to pay my respects. God bless ya man.



Reading over it again I believe the memorial was yesterday so I will put a flag out today.

thank you everyone. The funeral services were today. The support of the community has just been amazing. The procession for the burial was over 3 miles long of just family and friends. It really was an amazing spectacle. Also the route to the cemetery which covered 10 miles was lined with people holding flags and crying. This is a small town, that pretty much means that not a single person stayed home this afternoon. Every single person came out and showed their support. It was truly a god send. This young man exemplified what it ment to be a Marine and a TRUE AMERICAN hero. Today in one of the talks that was given, a young man said, "This friend of ours who lays before us. Took a bullet for everyone in this room, everyone in this state, and everyone in this country." That really hit home to me. The Corps has always said, "We turn boys into men, and men into soldiers. But its the soldiers choice if he becomes a hero or not." Daniel made that choice and all of us here in the community accept it gladly. Thanks everyone, Drexson Simmons PFC USMC (Shifty)

Shifty Thank you for posting this vid of Daniel. It gave me a real sense of who he was and what he has actually done. It touched me and I started to cry. I feel for you and Daniels family. My God bless you all.
