Just checkin in with yall. I just graduated Basic Training and am currently on town pass. I ship out to tech school on Monday morning at 0345. It feels pretty awesome to be a member of something bigger than myself and defend this great nation. Just wanted to check in.

Congrats Smith!!! Well, if the Alabama Highway Patrol hadn't have accepted my application in 2005, I would be right in there with ya, I had spoke with the recruiter and everything. I wanted to fly the Raptor, wanted to pilot since i saw Top Gun in 86 (I was 3) And have flown small aircraft with an old boss. Was ready to sign the papers and decided to sleep on it. Got the letter for AST the next day. I have all confidence, because our academy here is camparable to marine bootcamp... I would at least be a 2Lt. for real cause I had my B.S. in Psychology minor in Criminal Law. lol. Possibly a Captain by now . However, God has a plan set for us all and I feel his plan for me is working out just perfect. I'm proud of you and as long as you do what God leads you to do you will always be right and in good shape. Be safe and I believe I speak for everyone here in saying we are praying for you and all the men over there and the ones that haven't gone yet and the families of the ones who have gone on to be with Him.
