OLDMAN has a favor to ask

This may be quite long but please bear with me. I come here asking for this favor because I know of the beliefs most of you hold that there is a higher power. I find it funny, not haha funny, but maybe more unusual that I feel that for some odd reason I know most of you and consider you all friends. I have a few close personal friends and it is hard to explain why, having not met any of you face to face, that I would have no problem welcoming any of you into my home and feeling that I have known you for years. Funny thing this internet.

Today was not a good day for my wife. To give you a brief history, in the years we have been together (25) she has battled crohn's/ulcerative colitis for twelve of them. She has had the worst kind of thyroid cancer. She has had four operations to remove cancerous skin melanomas. And to top it off she has had to put up with me the last twenty-five years.

Today we met with another doctor to go over a mass they had found during a CT scan and MRI earlier this month. It is on her kidney. Talking with the doctor it is a high probability that this is also cancerous. 90% in fact. Not to get into all kinds of details but the operation to remove the tumor does not look promising that they will be able to save her kidney. It is also risky based on the location of the tumor and her renal artery, which makes the possibility of her bleeding a real threat to her life. They will more than likely have to remove the whole kidney. Her surgery is scheduled for February 13.

So my favor from you, and I know, since I have witnessed it before, that the power of prayer can do amazing things, I ask for a few for my wife. I know many of you have had your own challenges through life and have your own worries and concerns, but if you can slip an extra one in, I would be forever grateful.

You and your Family is definately be in our prayers. It is always hard to hear of Family with health issues. This time of year it is especially hard since we are supposed to be happy and thankful for our loved ones and all we have been blessed with.

Oldman even though i am not a very religious person , my heart felt prayers go out to you and yours. After what happened to me and my spouse on Monday i have to be-leave that there is someone watching over all of us.

save your favor for some other time when you need a favor. i will pray willingly with all my heart that all the powers above will rain down and help you in you need at this time of hardship in your family may his great hands touch the illness in your family rid you of her pain and suffering bob ill pray

Thats rough for sure and I know its hard. God be with your wife and you also. Pray for healing brother and I will pray as well. I am sorry that you and your family are going through all of this and especially at this time. I certainly pray that things will get better partner and soon. God bless you and your family OM. Oldman sorry to hear that. My prayers are with you and prayers do work. My dad had a cancerous tumor on his liver that had grown around his Hepatic Artery. They had to remove 80% of his liver(its all grown back now)

Its been 11 Years now and still no cancer. Praise the lord.

Hey Bob, this broke my heart to read. I am hoping that since this was posted perhaps you have gotten some more positive news. I had a similar experience 3 years ago when the doctors found a softball size tumor on my oldest daughters fallopian tube and told us that it was almost surely cancer. That turned out not to be the case and I am hoping the same for you and your wife. I wish you well my friend and hope and pray that this all turns out fine.

I do have to admit it was a little weird to see your real name. Its nice to meet you Bob. My name is Dave ,...I know you probably thought my parents named me swank but that is not the case.

Like the other bouts she has went through, it takes a day or two for her to get over the initial shock of hearing the "C" word again. She is a strong woman. She has a lot of fight in her. We have consulted with a different doctor on the upcoming surgery and have decided to stay with the initial doctor we seen. He is highly recommended in this area and is good at what he does.

A little side story. My wife asked me the other day, who I have told about her situation. Other than my family, I told her the people at my office that I consider good friends and one other good friend of mine and his wife. I also told her I posted on the COD MsM clan forum. She giggled and said really? I relayed to her the prayers, well wishes and sentiment that you have all posted. She was touched and wanted me to thank you all from her. I think she has a new found opinion of my playing a silly on-line computer game. She wasn't aware of what I know about this game and the people who play it. That some who play this, are some of the finest people I have had the good fortune to have crossed paths with in all my years.

I truly appreciate it.

I am so sorry I didn't see this back in December! I am putting your request on our church-wide prayer list. You'll have hundreds praying for you now. God bless, and I will include you and your wife in my daily prayers. I have a sister battling Lukemia so I feel your pain to a degree. Additionally, we thought my wife had cancer a couple of years ago but it turned out to be a false alarm.
