I really didn't know whether I should share this or not, but then I realized it probably wouldn't get anywhere if I didn't post it.

A few days ago, I was playing one of my games, Rome: Total War. It's growing old, but I still play it. I went online. There was a lot less games on there when I last played. And I thought, what happens when people stop playing it? Or they pull the plug? After thinking a bit, I thought of another game I play, one we all play, COD. That is my question. A question I wish we didn't have to answer.

What happens when VCod pulls the plug (this is a less likely scenario, since they're making $$$ off it.)? Or people stop paying? Do we part, never to see each other again? Or do we find another common game?

That is my answer, I know this fate is still far away, but it is close enough that we need to find a another/backup game if we wish to keep this clan together. But if we do not, then that is that.

I will end this with a candidate I've been tossing around for a while. The game is any game of the Red Orchestra. (EDIT: I've never actually played his, but is a game I've been eyeing for a while.)

Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is one of the candidates, so is Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad.

They both are pretty much the same except Heroes of Stalingrad is newer. So here's a list of the advantages and disadvantages of the two.

Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45

-It would be easier for most people to play because it has lesser graphics.
-already out

Disadvantages

-starting to fizzle out itself

Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad

Disadvantages

-Not out yet (Scheduled to be out sometime this year)
-Much more graphically heavy so people with older computers may not be able to play.

Advantages

-(will be) newer so more people

I know it's rated M but the only thing that seems any worse than COD is that it's a bit bloddier.

Use this thread to give replacement games ideas or discuss this matter.

(The main thing I would like answered is what's the plan when COD dies.)

(Oh gosh, should I really post this?)

This comes up every so often. Last time I think it was Radish that made the call to IW/activision. they will conyinue to host the master server and have no plans of shutting down. And as far as Vcod I'm sure as long as someone pays for it they will keep it alive.

It's not like the forum will be gone if the game does dissapear so I mean we could figure things out even if everything suddenly shut down ...
