World of Tanks

Does anyone play World of Tanks?

It's a free online game (you can pay for better vehicles and such but I play for free and do fine), I would recommend it. It isn't as fast paced as a FPS game but it requires a lot of teamwork to win. There are several different vehicles types from scouts to medium tanks, to heavies, to powerful tank destroyers and self propelled artillery pieces. I find it is easy to sit down and spend 15 minutes playing a few games in between my classes and such. It would a great way to get the clan back together a bit and playing the same game.

WoF can still live, even if we get away from CoD.

Oh sure, I totally agree! I have decided to make my retirement move January 1st 2015 so..... I will ABSOLUTELY have much more free time for myself, my family and the Clan. We dont have to wait until then though to play some together. We will see what happens over the next few days or so.

I just got invited to a clan on WoT, its pretty fun, and way more fun if you play with a bunch of friends.

I'm not sure what costs are associated with making a clan on there, but I know you can build a stronghold or some kind of base and defend against other clans.

It costs a thousand gold, I don't know if that's a one time fee or if it is reoccurring, but if you guys want to make a WoT clan, I have enough gold from completing missions that I could start it, but I'd rather find out how many we can get and who is serious first.

This is sounding more and more like a GREAT idea, to me anyway.. Check it out and this Sunday if possible I will try to get online and also Monday probably.

Just a basic layout.

There are no server costs unless we get teamspeak. However there are other free voice communication programs out there.

The initial clan cost would be 1000 gold in WoT currency and I do no believe this cost reoccurs. I am willing to do this and very interesed. However, before committing to it I would lioe to know who can/will play this game. As long as we can get 3 or 4 WOF guys we can set up an administration and start recruiting based on our strict guidelines. I'm perfectly fine with doing this...starting the clan and then handing over the reins to the WOF administration and resuming my role as a clan member and not an admin as I haven't been as active lately eith the fall of CoD.

This game is esay to play, requires more patience than skill, and can be played anytime of the day. A match takes 5-10 minutes usually so you can jump on during a lunchbreak or after work to unwind or something

I look forward to the shenanigans and getting th clan back together!

Not to shoot down your idea...lol punny I know. But on a serious note, I used to play War Thunder, however the gameplay has gotten very bad lately. The tanks are a joke compared to World of Tanks in my opinion. The aircraft were nice, but the progression system took a wrong turn in a recent update. Also, I'm pretty sure that everyone must pay for a premium account to be in a clan.

Ok, thanks pho and everyone else who have commented on this thread. I will try to hook up with you guys and try it out. I like WoT and if we could get several people on at once it would probably be pretty cool. We may lose a few of our current Clan members though if we go with a different type of game all together but if we do then its just up to them of course.

I just want to find something that we can sort of "clan up" together on again.. CoD used to be such a blast but for various reasons the flame just burned out after a few different trials with different versions of it. I used to absolutely love to get on CoD when we had a few people on TS and would probably like WoT just as much if not more than I did CoD.

We will just have to see.

Only one I have right now was one of my "Say what" moments in gameplay. I'll have to dig it up and post it. lol

If I rent another TS server, how many people would be willing to give the world of tanks a go? We could try it for like a month and see if the game takes off and with these guys help here, Pho, James_e, AK and all the others who know about the game ( i forgot who all commented) we could probably do ok with it I guess.

I am willing to put up a TS server and would like to get a head count though first to see if TS is worth it or some other method of communication, I do think we should have TS of some sort though to make the game a lot more fun.

TS definitely helps a lot, as you can coordinate attacks, and there are special ways to play games as a team, with one commander telling everyone where to go and whatnot.
