Would you buy an Acer?

How hard would it be to switch out this video card? I have a 450W PSU and from what I've read this card is no better than my 9500GT in my old machine. My scores are actually worse than before. I think the rest of the computer is good. Need a recommendation for the best graphics card I can get for a 450W PSU.

Im assuming this is the desktop computer you bought.

Also before you start doing this...

Have you tried the various cod commands like max fps and snaps?

These should help you

/cg_drawfps 1
shows FPS counter in top right corner

/com_maxfps 125 (or 333 if you have a decent GPU)
This caps your fps level--125 and 333 are jump levels, having that exact amount
allows you to do certain jump tricks by letting your in game character
jump higher and faster.

/com_hunkusage "#"
your # should be aprox. half your RAM, by default its 256? so its in mbs.

/rate 25000
improves ping

/r_fastsky 1
makes the sky render faster improving fps

/r_drawsun 0
sun module is made faster by lowering graphic qualities, improves fps

/snaps "#" (I suggest 40)
different snaps values work better on different servers play around with 20-45ish
numbers to find it best for your lag if you feel like you still has lag.

also:
/cg_lagometer 1
This displays the lag between the server and you and you and the server.

[your monitor may not support this speed at any resolution and if it does you may have to use a lower res]

/com_hunkmegs (half of the value of "/sys_sysmb")

/com_maxfps 100, 200, 500 or 1000

[many people use 333 fps but it doesn't divide evenly so any multiple of 100
is better. if you really want /com_maxfps 333 then try /snaps 33 and
/cl_maxpackets 33. also if using 333 frames then create a custom
resolution of 111 hertz and any of cod's preset resolution options in
your graphics control pannel and /r_displayrefresh 111]

[for those of you who can't get 100 fps: use /r_displayrefresh 50, /com_maxfps 50, /cl_maxpackets 50 or 25 and /snaps 50 or 25]

Wasn't able to use the hunkuasage or drawnsun. If the card has 2 GB what # do I use. My fps's still at 60. I'll try all of the above.
