Is it possible to edit the forum default settings so that the newest topics are the first to show up, instead of having to go through 5 pages of topics that were starting like 8 months ago?

Unless I'm having trouble finding said option in the User CP, I'm pretty sure the Mods are able to change this through the Admin CP.

If anyone else has been thinking the same, your help would be appreciated in making this happen; it's just way more convenient in seeing the most recent topics first, instead of the oldest.

The reason we have it set up that way is because a lot of times the replies get off topic and people start posting replies that get away from the original topic. Sorry but this is how we will continue to operate the forum. God bless

If the replies get off topic, you must either get it back on topic, or you close the topic as a result.

Also, I meant the order of topics in the forums, not the order of replies. In case you may have misunderstood.

The MsM forum moderators have enough to deal with besides keeping everything on topic and on Q. Lets just leave it the way it is now. It has worked out pretty well for everyone so far. Not being ugly about it, we just like the way it is. Thanks and God bless you partner. Pun

Hey Suttler. Instead of schrolling through the pages. On the home page, there is a button underneath the chat box that says view posts since last visit. It will have all the posts from your last visit. Go there. :]

You guys don't understand what I'm talking about

When you click on one of the forums, such as this one, "Site&Discussion", a list of topics shows up. However, that list starts with the oldest topics at the beginning, ones that were last discussed over a month ago, with the newest ones far back at like page 8. I'm proposing that the newest topics are arranged at the top of the list for convenience, instead of having to flip to page 8 to see what the newest topics are.

And Aegis, I'm not a complete toolbox not to notice the scrolling sidebar or topics. However, it doesn't cover all of the newest; just the last 10 that have been posted in. Doesn't help all the time.

No if you hit view posts since last visit, it will put every single post that happened since your last visit man. I'm tryin to help you out. It does work. I was on the forums at like 3 oclock today, and then came back now at 930. I can see about more than 10 posts that just happened. I am not talking about the latest posts on the side. Theres an actual button below the chat box that will show you all the posts since last visit. Don't call me a "toolbox" man. I'm tryin to help you out.

All I'm saying is that our forums should be organized from newest topic to oldest, not the other way around. It's so much easier to navigate and keep up on current events that way, rather than having to flip to the last page in a forum to see what new topics have been posted.

Note my use of the words "forums" and "topics", NOT POSTS. There is nothing wrong with posts; just the list of topics.

Thanks for the tip, Aegis. However, I think it would be beneficial to everyone if we switched this. I say we try it, and if people don't like it, we'll switch it back to the way it was.

We like it the way it is now, it is important for the Clan members to keep up on all information that may have been placed in a new topic, if it were the way you are talking about then some would not see certain topics because they did not have to flip through from the last topic to the newest. This way, no information should be missed. Thanks for the input though. God bless
